CHANGES THAT COULD BE MADE TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

In general, I like the faculty of chemical and pharmaceutical sciences and I really like the career I am studying (chemistry and pharmacy), but there are details in which I do not agree, such as having to take courses apart from the normal subjects of mandatory way. Extracutrivuls activities, according to me, should be optional, because many people take these courses and do not like them and I suppose that is not the idea. I also think that there are courses that will not serve me much at the end of the race, there are things that we need to be able to understand other codas of the race, but I really feel that they could be more "compact" and not separate some topics in more than one subject.

I understand that the race is long, because there is a lot to learn to be full professionals, but the academic load per semester is huge, we hardly have time to sleep. I think that would be one of the most important things that should be taken into account for the mental health of the students. The students are stressed, tired and we are not enjoying this process that should be pleasant to train as professionals.

Regarding the infrastructure of the faculty, I like it but I think it is not enough for the number of students who study there, we do not have a casino and that is a big problem because we have to resort to the nearby faculties and there are always many people buying (a sometimes we do not reach to have lunch calmly). The library is very small and a lot of times we do not know where to go to study (I find it very difficult to study in my house and I need to stay in the university to do it), and the study rooms are mostly occupied. Apart from this, the faculty is not qualified to have low-mobility chairs, there are no ramps or elevators that allow students in wheelchairs to go up to the rooms on the second floor.

We should make the use of technology more and more normal, too many things are done online, and it is important that you teach from this aspect as well.

The teachers who have taught me have very similar methodologies, teach us the subject and then do exercises about it, when possible. But to achieve that, many times the subjects of the course pass very quickly, and it is not possible to understand everything, and then we can not obtain such good grades.

MY OPINION ABOUT...

VIOLENCE ON THE TELEVISION 

My opinion about the violence on the television is that this actions violent don't have t show in this plataform and not one else. Show this kind of actions is normalize it in the diary life, doing that the people don't have conscience about the dangerous of the violence (whichever kind of violence, physic or psychological), inciting to the kids to be violent. Sometimes, the people are so accustom to see this behavior and they justify it, thinking that is no bad, because "is normal".

RECYCLING

About Recycling, I think that is very very important to have conscience with the Earth, the animals, the plants, the humans and everything that is around us, because the resources are being consumed very fast, and we need to continue living, so I guess that one solution to this problem is the recycling of plastic, paper, the organic waste, etc. Some residues take a long time in degrade it, and is difficult to use it again. If we take out the garbage mix, we don’t be helping the planet.

ABORTION

The abortion’s topic is so delicate. I know that is a theme hard to understand, but I think that is decision of who want to have an abort, independent to the causes (if she was raped or the condom don’t be effective). Nobody must to judge the decisions that take one girl/woman about her body, because I think that is not an easy decision and if she wants to do an abort is because she thinks that is the correct for herself. According to the last, I think that is not an alternative to solve a ‘passenger’ error, lack more education about sexuality. There are many risks in the moment to have an abort, and a lot of times the people don’t know it. First there are to educate the people for to legalizing something so important like that.

 TATTOOS

I like the tattoos, I want to have a one (two or three), but I think that is very “dangerous” and risky, because is for all your life. Apart, the implements have to be disinfected, the tattooist must to be very good in this profession, you don’t have to be allergic or something like that, etc. But, independent of this things, is a decision of who want to have a tattoo, is her/his body and nobody must to say anything about that. Some tattoos are so cute, and others are so terrifying haha. I don’t like the tattoos in the face, I think that is no pretty, because I think that the tattoos are something to the aesthetic, and I like the little tattoos, not the gigantic, for me this is no nice.

THE MUSIC IN MY LIFE

The music play a role very important in my life, because depending of my mood I listen some music's style. I could listen the majority kinds of music, because it depends how I feel in the moment that I listen some song. I like pop and alternative rock, but I can listen country, rock, reggaeton, techno etc (except hard metal or something like that :c).

I also feel identify with the songs letters or when I listen some song I remember a past situation, and this make me feel a lot of forms (happy, sad, angry, etc).

I like the music in English, and now I love Lost On You by LP (her voice is incredible). I also like the music in Spanish, for example Desastre by Gustavo Ceratti, but I like very much the "young Chilean music", for example Mujer by Alex Andwanter or Marineros by Marineros, among others.


One song that I knew by 13 Reasons Why serie was Lovely by Billie Eilish and Khalid. This song makes me feel so sad, because the letter is so sad and I remember the scene when Clay speak in the Hanna’s funeral.

I listen music when I am studying, but no whatever kind of music, I listen a video song (on YouTube) called ''Música para estudiar, concentrarse y memorizar'', It is instrumental or techno music. I really can be concentrate in the study with this music haha.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

Really, I am not very informed about the different alternatives for to study after the end of the career, it's a lot of options, but I have been thinking to take a postgraduate course.
Take a postgraduate course is one option to specialize about your career, or maybe specialize in an area that you like.

I think that I would like to have a diploma in management in pharmaceutical sciences because, in relation to what I have found in the university's website now, I could to learn more about how to organize and manage a pharmacy's service. As I told you in the previous blog, I want to have my own pharmacy, this is the main reason.
Maybe, I could take a magister in pharmaceutical sciences, to have a high level in this area and contribute to the society effectively. I need the money first☹️

I would like to take this postgraduate course in Chile and after to do this, I would like to go to other countries to specialize in other areas, for example in something about plants, because I also would like to work with plants. And then come back to Chile, because the Chilean flora has not been explored so much.

I would like to take part-time courses, because I would like to work after to finish Chemistry and Pharmacy career, to finance the university fee of the courses.
If I can, I would like to take a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, because I want to investigate and discover new active principles in plants.

MY FUTURE JOB 💗

I am studying Chemistry and Pharmacy, so I would like to work in some job related to this career. I imagine that I work in a hospital directly with the patients; in a pharmacy attending to the people that want to buy some medicine; or in a laboratory, synthesizing a drug or discovering a new drug (this will be amazing). But I really would like to work in my own pharmacy.

I would like to attend it and help to the people that are so far away from Santiago, because I want to go to the south or north of Chile with my pharmacy.

I would like to travel around of Chile first, maybe open a new pharmacy, who knows, or going to another country to speech or to learn things about new discovery related with the job that I want to my future.

I know, more or less, what will be my salary, but I also know that is not easy to have a ‘project’ like this, while exist a lot of rivalry/competition from the other pharmacies, so I will have to wait for a real salary, not only recover the money that was invested.

I don’t studying a major now, but I would like to do it in a future not so far away.
I also would like to work with plants, synthetizing medicine or doing research about it.

THINGS I HATE AND LIKE ABOUT UNIVERSITY/CAREER

One bad experience that I have had was in the first year, when I failed General Chemistry 1, I thought that I don´t have to continue studying Chemistry and Pharmacy career, because maybe it was not for me and I felt embarrassment, but I met people that they helped me with this situation and they told me that is normal and I don’t had to be sad, so here I am ;)

One good experience that I have had was in this semester. My friends Andrea and Karolay and me met a little place in the university|, the ‘Biohuerta Raihen’. This place is amazing. I like so much the flowers, the trees and the aroma that some plants have. We are voluntaries of the vegetable garden and we go to water in the morning. We still can’t plant anything, because the teacher has not told us to do it. But I enjoy going there, it is a relaxing place.



I hate the competition between the students, I know that we need to pass the subjects, but we can help us between all. All the people know that to be in the university is hard and exhausting, but it’s not necessary that the relationship with a classmate be disagreeable (of course not all the people are like this, but I have met some persons competitive). I hate this, because is stressful want to learn and that some people does not want to help you. I don´t speak about Chemistry and Pharmacy only, in general this situation happen in the majority of careers.

The things I like is that I have been learning a lot of things about the career, that I met good people that makes me feel so happy in this place, and I like that my faculty have many trees. I like these things, because they make my university experience better. 

One possible solutions to the thing that I hate about the university’s students could be that we let’s be more empathetic with who need help. To be here is for yourself, it´s not depend about other people, let’s be a good person, please!

WHAT I DO IN MY FREE TIME

In my free time I like to read so much, listen to music, go out to eat something or for to know a new place and also go to dance with my best friends, but I really like to walk for hours talking with someone about thoughts, dreams or what we feel about something.

I read books in all the places that I can, in my house, in the university, in the metro, in the bus, wherever. My friends and I have likes similar so we enjoy the same things and we always go to eat or we go to museums or to the park, or in the night we go to dance to a party in some friend’s house.

When I was a child I read books for the school, but now I read because I like. My favorite literary genre is the black novel, about investigations or murders, but I read a little bit of everything.

I like these activities, because they make me feel happy. When I am alone I enjoy to read in silence and calm (sometimes I cry or I get angry for the things that happened in the book haha). And to know new places is very funny to me, because I enjoy the landscapes.

This activities can be individuals or group, sometimes I want to do it alone, and sometimes with company.

MY BEST HOLIDAYS

My best holidays was a few years ago, in 2010 exactly. I went with my cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, my dad and mom, the whole family. We went to Pichilemu and we stayed in a very nice cabin. We were there for a week approximately.

My cousins and I loved craft fairs, and we always went there. I remember that there was a game that consisted in throwing some balls and you added points, and those points determined which plush you won. It was entertaining, because we usually won plush animals that were very ugly haha. We also liked walking a lot on the beach. Once we went to a lagoon and it was amazing, we did not want to leave, and our hands were wrinkled like grandparents. We rode a horse drawn cart and my grandmother climbed on surfboard.

It was the best holidays, because I enjoyed so much to my family and I knew that little part of Chile. We can't always go all at the same time on vacation, but this time it was possible. We stayed late playing cards and woke up early to go to the beach. Also, when we came back from the beach, my aunt told us she was pregnant with my cousin Victor, we were all very happy.

* That week was just before the earthquake (February 27, 2010), the cabin was very close to the beach, three blocks away, and we had arrived to our homes a couple of days before that all happened. I thank life for not having been part of the people who had to live the earthquake and the tsunami there.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

I would like to go to Italy, because I think that is an interesting country with its culture, beautiful places and delicious food.

Italy is a European Country, famous for the Roman Coliseum, an oval amphitheater located in the center of Rome city; for the Leaning Tower of Pisa located in Pisa city; for the incredible landscapes of Venice city. This country is also famous for the pizza and noodles with bolognese sauce.

In this place I would like to visit all the places that I mentioned before, to eat a lot of pizza and to know how is the people there and his culture.

I would not go there to work, maybe to study, but I really would go to live in this place. I know Italy only by photos and I want to learn so much about this country and if I live there I will know a lot of thing about it, and I will love to wake up there every day.
I think that is a place that everyone should to visit, because every city have an interesting things to do, places to visit and people to know.
